“Leonard was a very good actor but, literally, no sense of humor. He was always in character. I got the impression he was always unhappy, too. I don’t know why. I mean, once in a while he was pleasant, if the spirit moved him, but he couldn’t just come on the set with a pleasant attitude. Bill [Shatner], on the other hand, always did, even though nobody would laugh as his jokes. He knew they weren’t that funny, so he made fun of himself. It was that kind of thing. he’s one of the few actors who may be full of himself — because most of them are — but has a good sense of humor about it. You could tease him about it. And plenty of laughs…he’s generally quite funny.”
